Yes, friends, the mongrels I am referring to are the excrement-eating cowards from Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. These (alleged) children of God are notorious for picketing the funerals of U.S. soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan as a way of protesting our government, which they believe is much too tolerant of homosexuality. These deranged maniacs carry signs and placards reading, “Thank God for Dead Soldiers” and “Thank God for IEDs [improvised explosive devices]” and “God Hates America”, while shouting curses and hurling insults at grieving parents. They also operate a detestable website that needs no explanation (www.godhatesfags.com). The Westboro Baptist Church (in Topeka, Kansas) is run by a diseased scarecrow-looking brute named Fred Phelps who believes that the soldiers deaths are God’s prompt punishment for the collective sins of our nation.
Some of you might read this with disgust, but argue that they have a right to free speech. You would be correct. However, it seems only fair that I have the opportunity to exercise my right to take an aluminum bat to the kneecaps of these hate-mongers while singing “Amazing Grace.Organized religion has a terrifying history of hate and violence that has fueled its empire for centuries. From the missions, to the Inquisition, to the Crusades, to institutionalized slavery and genocide, these fanatics have fed on death and destruction, all in the name of the Prince of Peace. Indeed, countless victims have perished at the hands of these delusional rats whose only nourishment is power and greed. They use fear to keep the passive mammals in line and destroy anyone or anything that might jeopardize their supremacy. They have transformed something beautifully unifying into an ugly, savage weapon of conformity
And the only thing worse than these villainous protozoans and their diabolical stupidity is the silence of the masses who see it all and do nothing. It’s enough to make me violently ill. Look, I am not so simple minded as to lump all religious people together into one massive amoebic creature with multiple mouths and endless eyes sliming the universe with its excreta. I am aware of the subtleties and differences on the religious totem. I expect the fanatics to be noisy and the moderates to be, well, moderate. What I do not expect or accept is how they pick and choose their battles. I have seen the most lukewarm Christian moderates explode with passionate zealotry over the abortion debate. I’ve seen them walking the picket line with the extremists, shouting and singing gospel hymns, and scaring the devil out of terrified patients entering and exiting the clinics. But where are they when lowlife, scumbag bigots and perverts pretend to be ministers, ordained by a savage god, and vomit a sermon of hate from a pulpit of false righteousness? Where’s the outrage from the good, Jesus loving Christians when Phelps and his inbred miscreant progeny protest military funerals? Oh, the hypocrisy! Oh, the shame! I often wonder how the sheep can sleep at night knowing their silence empowers these traitors. Remember, it was Martin Luther King Jr. who said, “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
